Ethiopia Rare Microlot

SCA Rating: 90

Tasting notes

Lemon Drizzle, Bergamot & Blackberry

From £13.95 per bag

"We purposely roasted light to allow the sweet and zingy acidity to flourish, this balance was reminiscent of lemon drizzle icing. As it cools expect a tea-like body and taste to blossom like only an Ethiopian can."

It’s back! The long awaited return of our Ethiopian Rare microlot from the legendary producer Daye Bensa. This coffee is named after the Bombe Mountains, which is the area where most of the farmers who grow cherries for this lot live and work.

Due to this coffees high altitude, the bean becomes very dense and therefore full of complexity’s unknown to lower grown coffees. The colder climate at these heights allows for a steady accumulation of sugars and acids that flourish when lightly roasted. This prolonged development combined with the dry fermentation creates a unique clarity of flavour, complex aromas and sparkling acidity.
